On May 22, 2026, Summit Nanotech Corporation announced it has adopted the operating name Summit Lithium Technologies. The rebranding highlights the company’s expanded focus on its direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology, which combines a proprietary sorbent, modular system design, and predictive modeling platform. This announcement coincides with the completion of basic engineering for Summit’s modular commercial plant, designed to produce lithium at scalable rates.
Summit first deployed its DLE system in northern Chile with a pilot project in 2022, followed by a field demonstration at Albemarle’s site in 2025. Earlier this year, the company launched a rapid-validation demonstration plant in Santiago to process customer brine samples. With basic engineering now finalized, the modular plant design can be configured in 5,000-tonne-per-annum units, expandable to 50,000 tonnes per year of lithium output.
Founder and CEO Amanda Hall stated that the new name reflects the company’s evolution beyond nanotechnology research. “We are building the infrastructure layer for the energy transition,” she said, noting that the integration of sorbent technology, modular systems, and process intelligence enhances extraction reliability and lowers lifecycle costs.
Summit Lithium Technologies maintains a global footprint with its headquarters in Calgary, a pilot development facility in Denver, a rapid-validation plant in Santiago, and a project development office in Salta, Argentina. All existing customer contracts, technology agreements, and partnerships remain active under the new name. Alongside the rebrand, the company is rolling out an updated logo, website, and corporate materials.
Summit Lithium Technologies is dedicated to advancing the commercial deployment of its proprietary DLE process. The denaLi™ system, enabled by the eLivate™ sorbent, is engineered for high lithium recovery, strong impurity rejection, and ultra-low water consumption. By focusing on these performance metrics, the company aims to deliver competitive levelized cost of lithium production over the full project lifecycle. Summit collaborates with lithium producers and project developers worldwide, supporting projects from resource evaluation through commercial implementation.
