Voltfang, a provider of battery storage systems for industrial, commercial and grid-scale applications, has closed a €15 million Series B financing round. Led by Dutch deeptech investor FORWARD.One, the round also included contributions from existing backers Interzero, PT1, Helen Ventures, Daphni and Aurum Impact (the Goldbeck family office), along with new investors Fiege Ventures and Newberry Investments.
The company plans to use the funds to scale manufacturing and deliver an additional 250 MWh of sustainable battery storage capacity across Europe by the end of 2026. Voltfang will also continue to advance Venma, its AI-enhanced energy management platform designed to optimize self-consumption, reduce electricity costs and facilitate participation in energy markets.
Voltfang’s systems are built around high-performance, repurposed battery modules sourced from the European automotive sector, a strategy intended to strengthen energy security and support a circular economy. The successful, oversubscribed Series A round in 2024 underscored investor confidence in the company’s approach to sustainable, scalable energy storage.
David Oudsandji, CEO and co-founder of Voltfang, noted that the new financing directly addresses a surge in orders during the first quarter. He emphasized the urgent need to expand energy infrastructure and improve grid flexibility across Germany and Europe in order to reduce external dependencies and bolster resilience. “Doubling our valuation in just six months highlights the market’s confidence in our technology and growth outlook,” he said.
Paul Pruijmboom, partner at FORWARD.One, cited Voltfang’s combination of robust hardware and intelligent software as central to advancing Europe’s energy transition. Niko Samios, partner at PT1, praised the company’s consistent execution, scalable business model and commitment to circular economy principles. Jens Fiege, CEO of the Fiege Group, added that the investment will enable logistics firms to adopt cost-effective and environmentally sound energy storage solutions, while infrastructure and expertise from Fiege will support deployment.
Jan-Hendrik Goldbeck of GOLDBECK and Miki Yokoyama of Aurum Impact also highlighted Voltfang’s integrated approach to building and energy solutions and its forward-looking economic viability.
