On March 30, 2026, Volvo Cars and Geely Auto announced the signing of a non-binding memorandum of understanding to form a new commercial partnership for Lynk & Co in Europe. Under this agreement, Volvo Cars will take responsibility for Lynk & Co’s commercial operations and brand management across the region, acting as the exclusive importer and distributor of the brand’s electric vehicles. Lynk & Co models will be offered through Volvo’s established retail network, utilizing its sales and after-sales infrastructure.
Lynk & Co Europe stated that leveraging Volvo’s existing central commercial system and dealer network is expected to accelerate market expansion and support higher sales volumes. Volvo Cars emphasized that the cooperation would broaden both brands’ consumer reach without additional product development costs.
The memorandum clarifies that there are no changes to the equity structure: Lynk & Co will remain a brand under Geely Auto Group, which will continue to oversee global product design, research and development, and regulatory certification. Launched in 2016 as a premium brand in collaboration with Volvo Cars, Lynk & Co entered the European market the same year. Initially known for its 01 plug-in hybrid SUV, the brand now offers vehicle sales and leasing services in multiple European countries. By integrating with Volvo’s channel system, Lynk & Co aims to move beyond its direct-sales and subscription model to reach a wider customer base.
This partnership is part of Geely Holding’s broader European strategy to integrate its global resources. Geely has been centralizing brand management, research and development, and sales channels around Volvo’s mature ecosystem. Other Geely brands—such as Zeekr, Polestar, and Lotus—have similarly tapped shared platforms, technology centers, and dealer networks to reduce development costs and improve speed to market. Geely Auto has set a global sales target of more than 6.5 million vehicles by 2030 and is focusing on internal integration and multi-brand synergies to enhance competitiveness.
