Company Overview

American Battery Materials Inc. (ABM) is a U.S.-based mineral exploration and development company specializing in Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology. The company was established with the mission to secure domestic lithium supply chains and focuses on developing sustainable extraction methods for battery materials used in electric vehicles and energy storage. ABM operates mainly in the Paradox Basin region, exploring and processing lithium-rich brine deposits with an environmentally responsible approach using closed-loop systems that minimize waste and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Battery Technology

ABM’s core technology is an advanced Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) process that operates through a closed-loop system extracting lithium from underground brine deposits and returning processed brine to its source. The technology drastically reduces land use by 97% compared to evaporation ponds, eliminates mining waste, significantly decreases water consumption, lowers carbon emissions, and allows continuous extraction regardless of weather. It is adaptable to various brine compositions and geological settings, maintaining consistent production quality.

Products

ABM focuses on producing high-purity lithium products for use in battery manufacturing, targeting the electric vehicle and renewable energy storage markets. Their products aim to deliver domestically sourced battery materials with reduced environmental impact and improved supply chain security.

Recent Projects

In 2024, ABM received approval to reenter the Peterson Fed 88-21P well bore in southeastern Utah as a key step in its lithium exploration. ABM has a partnership with RESPEC Company LLC for geotechnical engineering and resource management to enhance exploration capabilities in the Lisbon Valley Project area, which shows promising lithium concentrations in subsurface brines.
