BNP Paribas Asset Management supports cleantech and battery technology through the Solar Impulse Venture Fund, launched in 2021 with the Solar Impulse Foundation. As of January 2025 the fund has raised €172 million, including an initial €75 million from BNP Paribas and €86 million from group investments. It plans 15 to 20 investments in startups holding the Solar Impulse Efficient Solutions label. Target sectors include energy transition, sustainable agriculture, circular economy, water management, smart cities, sustainable mobility and industrial innovation. Select portfolio companies include Chemix for AI-driven battery design, NatureMetrics for biodiversity monitoring, Phenix for zero waste solutions, Axioma bio-solutions and Hello Watt energy efficiency technology.
