PKA Maj Invest, formerly Maj Invest Minorities, is a Danish private equity and venture capital firm based in Copenhagen. In partnership with PKA, one of Denmark’s largest pension funds, the firm manages roughly DKK 9 billion across multiple funds and operates in both developed and emerging markets. It typically acquires minority equity stakes of 5–15 percent in companies that drive the green energy transition, life sciences and other technologies aligned with long-term sustainability goals.
Investment vehicles include the Maj Invest Energy Transition Fund I, launched in late 2023 with DKK 2 billion committed and anchored by PKA. Structured for co-investment with professional partners, the fund promotes SDG7 (affordable and clean energy) and SDG13 (climate action) and focuses on companies along the green energy infrastructure and supply chain rather than standalone asset plays. Maj Invest is also a founding investor in Glentra Fund I, a hybrid private equity and infrastructure vehicle targeting platforms, equipment makers and service providers for renewables. All of its funds carry Article 8 status under the EU’s Sustainability Disclosure Regulation.
In the battery and clean technology sector, PKA Maj Invest holds a direct stake in Morrow Batteries, a Norwegian producer of sustainable lithium-ion cells used for grid storage, electric vehicles and maritime applications. As of late 2024, the firm had invested over DKK 388 million in Morrow. Through Glentra Fund I, it has indirect exposure to energyRe, a US-based renewables developer. Across its funds, the firm backs a broader portfolio of firms working on enabling technologies for the energy transition value chain, and it continues to add positions in suppliers and component manufacturers that support sustainable development goals.
