Pomega specializes in advanced LFP battery cells engineered without harmful metals, offering exceptional thermal stability and extended lifecycle performance. Manufacturing processes incorporate strict quality control and R&D collaborations with South Carolina institutions to advance efficiency, safety, and battery management systems.
Pomega Energy is currently producing LFP battery cells at its Ankara plant in Turkey (3 GWh per year) and has immediate plans to expand production at this location as well as at its new facility in South Carolina (3 GWh per year initially, up to 6 GWh). By 2027, the company’s total operational capacity could exceed 10 GWh annually, establishing Pomega as a leading supplier of LFP cells for stationary energy storage. Pomega’s products include customizable energy storage modules, all-in-one residential battery solutions, and industrial-scale LFP energy storage systems for utilities and large industrial facilities. These systems provide scalable grid stability and renewable integration.
In 2023, Pomega began constructing a $300 million, 3 GWh (expandable to 6 GWh) manufacturing facility in Colleton County, South Carolina, creating 575 jobs with production slated for 2024. It also partnered with Siemens on a sustainable battery ecosystem and educational initiatives with the University of South Carolina.
Rubellius Capital holds a 2.0% stake through an $8.4M investment via Rubellius Nucleus Investments SARL. Kontrolmatik Technologies provides ongoing support to Pomega Energy Storage Technologies, and the company benefits from U.S. IRA incentives.
