Geyser Batteries’ proprietary technology combines elements of supercapacitors with secondary reduction-oxidation batteries in an innovative hybrid electrochemical system. The water-based chemistry eliminates the need for lithium and other critical raw materials, significantly reducing environmental impact while maintaining high performance standards. Features include fast charging (under three minutes), extended lifecycle performance (hundreds of thousands of cycles), zero fire risk due to aqueous electrolyte composition, uniform current density through bipolar design, minimal maintenance requirements, low-temperature operation capability, and the use of recyclable materials. The redox reaction occurs on both electrodes, enabling superior energy density and rapid charge-discharge capabilities.

In 2023, Geyser Batteries signed a conditional supply agreement with Released Energy to provide 85 megawatts of proprietary battery technology across Australia and the United Kingdom, supporting renewable energy integration and reducing curtailment. The company has also engaged in renewable energy projects in Australia, demonstrating its growing international presence.
Geyser Batteries is backed by Voima Ventures (which led a $1M seed round in 2019), Butterfly Venture Fund III Ky, Tesi (Finnish Industry Investment Ltd.), and the Ehrnrooth Family Office. It completed a bridge financing round in 2021 with participation from existing investors.
