Additionally, the process reclaims plastic from battery casings and reprocesses electrolyte sulfuric acid for use in other industries, such as fertilizers or construction materials in the form of gypsum. The hydrometallurgical technique is central to the company’s aim of a zero-to-landfill operation, intending to reuse or repurpose all materials from spent batteries. This method is reported to significantly lower carbon emissions and reduce waste byproducts compared to conventional techniques.

Halo Battery Recycling Ltd. is primarily controlled by Recyclus Group Limited, which holds a majority stake in the company, granting it rights to appoint or remove directors. Recyclus Group is, in turn, a subsidiary of Technology Minerals Plc, a publicly traded company on London’s AIM market.

Technology Minerals Plc is consolidating its ownership of Recyclus and its subsidiaries, positioning the overall group to strengthen its role in the UK’s battery recycling infrastructure. The broader Recyclus Group has also secured funding, including a recent £3 million round, to support the expansion of its recycling operations.
