Founded in Hong Kong, DESTEN Inc. is an advanced lithium-ion battery technology company focused on ultra-fast charging solutions for electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage systems. Since its founding, DESTEN has consistently pushed the boundaries of battery innovation. A major breakthrough came in 2017 with the development of the world’s first 10C rechargeable lithium-ion battery, following nearly a decade of intensive research and development in cell and system technologies.
Since its initial formation, DESTEN has made significant advances in battery technology, with several notable achievements and innovations, such as:
- Less than 5-Minute Charging: One of DESTEN’s most notable milestones is the ability to charge lithium-ion cells in as little as five minutes—a feat that has broad implications for both electric mobility and stationary energy storage. This development addresses key industry challenges by combining rapid recharge capability, high cycle life, and reliable chemical stability.
- Ultra-Fast LFP in 2023: In 2023, DESTEN introduced an ultra-fast charging LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery capable of charging from 20% to 80% state of charge in just six minutes. This technology offers enhanced thermal and chemical stability, coupled with cost-effective production methods.
Our battery technology is able to achieve sub-5 minute recharge without significant trade-offs in energy density, cycle life, cost, and safety, with each of these performance aspects matching or exceeding batteries in today’s applications. – Alasdair Pocock
A collaboration with InMotion — a Motorsports Innovator — demonstrated the battery’s potential, achieving a world record with a sub-four-minute full charge under high-performance racing conditions.

Strategy for the Growing Battery Market
DESTEN’s strategy centers on delivering integrated fast-charging solutions, in particular two-wheel and three-wheel electric vehicles.
The electric mobility and energy storage industries will require high-power batteries to overcome application-specific challenges in conjunction with engendering widespread adoption. In the electric mobility sector, achieving fast charging and discharging is critical in eliminating range and charging anxiety for electric vehicles (EVs). – Alasdair Pocock
Beyond EVs, DESTEN’s technology supports multiple sectors. Ultra-fast charging capabilities enable rapid energy deployment in grid-scale storage and foster better integration of renewable power sources. Through Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), DESTEN optimizes energy utilization and strengthens EV charging networks. Additional applications include industrial and consumer electronics, UPS systems, and advanced power management solutions.
To meet growing market demand, DESTEN has expanded its manufacturing capabilities, featuring an R&D line with triple-digit MWh capacity and plans for a GWh-scale production facility. Technological development focuses on:
- Ultra-fast charging
- Temperature stability and safety
- High-energy density
- Extended cycle life
- Cost-effective production methods
Strategic alliances across North America, Europe, and Asia facilitate the integration of DESTEN’s battery technologies into emerging EV and energy storage platforms. Collaborations include supplying ultra-fast charging LFP cell samples to OEM partners and adapting the technology for specialized applications, including motorsports. Through these efforts, DESTEN aims to transform the landscape of electric mobility and broader energy management solutions.
