Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL) said more than 1,800 energy storage companies have signed up for CATL Mall, its direct-sales online store launched in June 2026. The platform is designed to serve small- and medium-scale energy storage system integrators while reducing cell costs by removing distributors from the supply chain.
CATL also updated the product lineup on the platform. Its energy storage lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells now start at 423 yuan per kWh, or about 63 USD per kWh at the time of writing. The site also lists 47-kWh and 105-kWh LFP energy storage modules, along with 6.6-meter, 20-foot storage containers rated for up to 5 MWh.
According to CATL, the direct-sales model is meant to address a challenge faced by energy storage companies that cannot always meet the minimum order volumes required through traditional channels. Smaller buyers have often depended on resellers and distributors, which can create uncertainty around cell quality, consistency, and delivery timing. The company said the issue has become more pronounced as distributed residential storage and home solar systems expand.
CATL said buyers placing a minimum order of three boxes, or 600 cells, receive a five-year warranty with no additional fees. It also said orders will ship within three to five days. The current cell offerings include 280 Ah and 314 Ah options, both rated for 1C charge and discharge and listed with a lifespan of 8,000 cycles at 70% state of health.
The 280 Ah cell is priced at 0.494 yuan per Wh, or about 73.5 USD per kWh, while the 314 Ah cell is listed at 0.423 yuan per Wh, or about 62.9 USD per kWh. CATL said pricing for modules and containers has not been published. The company also noted that its listings are subject to dynamic pricing tied to raw material costs.
CATL described CATL Mall as a business-to-business platform requiring a valid business license for registration. The company said the process is intended to be simple, though unregistered users cannot view prices. CATL is China’s largest battery maker and the world’s largest by installed capacity, with 31.4 GWh in June 2026 and a 42.9% share of the domestic market.
