On January 10, 2026, CATL opened the Middle East’s first and largest new energy aftermarket facility outside China, the NING SERVICE Experience Center, in Riyadh. The facility strengthens the company’s after-sales presence and supports the region’s electrification and decarbonization objectives under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to electrify 30% of vehicles in the capital by 2030 and reduce emissions by 50%. Spanning more than 7,000 square meters, the center includes exhibition spaces, diagnostic and maintenance zones, refurbishment workshops, training rooms, and a customer lounge. It provides full-lifecycle support for battery systems across passenger and commercial vehicles, energy storage applications, and electric equipment such as forklifts. Services cover battery diagnostics, repair, maintenance, rework, recycling, aftermarket logistics, and warehousing, enabling customers to reduce downtime, lower costs, and extend asset life.
CATL built the center to address challenges including high electricity demand, extreme climate, and limited charging infrastructure. The facility also serves as a platform for talent development, offering training programs that contribute to local knowledge transfer and skilled employment. Globally, NING SERVICE operates ten training centers covering 2,300 square meters and has certified over 9,700 new energy after-sales professionals through partnerships with vocational institutions. The Experience Center further supports CATL’s localization strategy by forging partnerships with local industry players. Discussions are underway with fuel network operators to supply green electricity at service stations, infrastructure firms to electrify truck fleets, and energy companies to implement solar-plus-storage solutions. These collaborations aim to bolster service capabilities, increase market confidence, and accelerate the adoption of integrated new energy solutions in the Middle East.
The Riyadh facility joins a global network of more than 1,200 service stations and 73 spare parts warehouses, with a combined inventory area exceeding 370,000 square meters. Having serviced over six million electric vehicles, NING SERVICE underscores CATL’s long-term commitment to the region’s energy transition and its alignment with broader sustainability goals.
