Daimler Buses will present its latest developments for electric city buses at the UITP Summit 2025 in Hamburg from June 15 to 18. The event will feature the world debut of the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro equipped with the fourth-generation NMC4 lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt battery, which will enter series production in 2026 across the eCitaro, eCitaro G and eCitaro K models. The new NMC4 battery offers increased energy density for extended operating ranges and enhanced cycle life. It supports a maximum continuous charging rate of 150 kW and rapid charging up to 300 kW, combining gentle charging profiles with regular high-power top-ups to extend battery longevity.

In addition to the vehicle showcase, Daimler Buses Solutions GmbH will highlight its end-to-end electromobility offerings. The division provides transport operators with feasibility studies, custom bus configurations and complete infrastructure solutions. These services cover construction work, electrical installations, charging hardware, battery storage systems, charging management software and related digital services, all delivered from the factory.

Omniplus, Daimler Buses’ service network, continues to expand its dedicated eBus outlets across Europe. From 2025, all new buses ordered from Daimler Buses can be equipped with an optional Digital Services Package—available free for three years on diesel buses and six years on electric models. Among the new digital tools is Omniplus On monitor location services plus, which enables speed-related geofencing by automatically activating a vehicle’s speed limiter when it enters a predefined zone. Omniplus On Battery Monitoring provides fleet operators with real-time information on high-voltage battery health and usage recommendations, while the complimentary Warranty Status service offers visibility into battery warranty coverage and helps prevent potential violations.
