HOUSTON, Dec. 17, 2025 — KULR Technology Group, a developer of frontier high-performance energy systems, today announced a joint development collaboration with a leading global battery-cell manufacturer to co-develop the next-generation KULR ONE® MAX Battery Backup Unit (BBU) product line. Designed for AI-scale data centers and high-power compute environments, the initiative supports a commercial program valued at up to $100 million.

Under the collaboration, KULR will lead the design, development, safety engineering and UL certification of the BBU architecture, which is centered on an ultra-high-power 21700 cell platform. The system is engineered to comply with the Meta Open Compute Project ORV3 standard and the high-voltage DC requirements for next-generation AI server workloads.

KULR’s responsibilities include system-level architecture, advanced thermal-management solutions and propagation-resistance design. The company will also oversee all UL 9540 and UL 9540A certification activities. The battery-cell partner will integrate its cell technology into the BBU and provide technical support throughout development.

Following successful UL 9540 certification, the cell manufacturer has committed to a long-term supply of its ultra-high-power 21700 cells for the duration of the program. This supply agreement ensures predictable access to premium high-performance cells and facilitates cost control for KULR as it transitions to commercial production.

The collaboration aligns with KULR’s strategy to address increasing demand for safe, certifiable, high-power lithium-ion backup solutions among hyperscalers, cloud service providers, AI data-center operators and system integrators worldwide.

About KULR Technology Group Inc.: KULR specializes in high-performance energy storage solutions, leveraging in-house expertise in battery design, testing and manufacturing. The company’s offerings serve applications in space, aerospace and defense, delivering both commercial off-the-shelf and custom systems with accelerated development timelines.
