CarbonX will host Rotterdam’s Councillor for Climate, Building, and Housing, Chantal Zeegers, at its NEXT Delft facility on Friday, June 27, 2025, for an exclusive working visit. The programme includes a closed-door roundtable to discuss the Netherlands’ role in the European battery supply chain, highlighting CarbonX’s efforts to develop an independent European production network for battery anode materials.

A focal point of the visit is the official presentation of CarbonX One, one of Europe’s first dedicated facility for battery anode material production. Following the presentation, councillor Zeegers will join a tour of CarbonX’s battery test laboratories and will personally initiate a new test cycle for the company’s next-generation battery materials. Attendees include representatives from the Energy Transition Fund supporting CarbonX, the Municipality of Rotterdam, the Ministry of Climate and Green Growth, the Port of Rotterdam, and InnovationQuarter.

Founded in 2014 and based near Delft University of Technology, CarbonX develops emulsion feedstock technology to produce scalable, high-performance battery anode materials as an alternative to imported graphite. The company supports battery cell validation and aims to strengthen energy resilience by localizing supply chains in Europe, Asia, and the US.
