Skeleton Technologies has secured an initial €33 million in the first close of its pre-IPO funding round, bringing total venture capital raised to €392 million as the company prepares for an initial public offering in the United States in 2027.
The investment round adds Axon Partners Group, SmartCap and Taiwania Capital to the company’s investor base, with additional participants expected to be announced ahead of the IPO.
The company, which specializes in high-power energy storage solutions for AI infrastructure and grid power systems, plans to use the new funding to scale production and meet growing demand from AI data centers.
Power limitations have been widely identified as a major constraint on the expansion of AI workloads, and Skeleton’s technologies aim to cut data center energy consumption by up to 40%, boost computing throughput by a similar percentage and accelerate grid connection for large-scale operations.
Skeleton already operates a mass-scale supercapacitor manufacturing facility in Germany and a one-gigawatt SuperBattery factory in Finland. The new capital will support geographic expansion, including planned manufacturing capacity in the United States.
Taavi Madiberk, CEO and co-founder of Skeleton Technologies, noted that as AI infrastructure scales, “reliable, high-performance power solutions have become critical. This funding round brings strategic partners on board and strengthens our ability to deliver the next generation of energy storage.”
Axon Partners Group’s managing partner, Francisco Velazquez, commented that sustainable growth of AI data centers requires novel power infrastructure approaches, and he expressed confidence in Skeleton’s ability to meet global energy demands.
David Weng, CEO of Taiwania Capital, highlighted the strategic fit between Europe’s deep-tech innovation, Taiwan’s position in the AI data center supply chain and Skeleton’s energy solutions. He added that the partnership would help build a resilient power backbone for the AI era.
Madiberk emphasized that while the United States leads in AI deployment, demand for high-power storage spans Europe and Asia, and support from a diverse investor base is vital to sustaining the company’s rapid growth.
