Sunwoda Electric Vehicle Battery Co Ltd (Sunwoda EVB) unveiled a 15C smart flash charging battery system and outlined plans for 10,000 megawatt charging stations by the end of 2027. The Chinese battery maker announced the plan on September 17 after the system debuted at a battery industry conference held September 16-17 in Zaozhuang, Shandong province.
At room temperature, the system can charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes, according to data Sunwoda EVB presented at the conference. A 1-minute charge can add 100 kilometers of range, while the battery supports a driving range of more than 700 kilometers. At minus 20°C, charging from 10% to 97% takes 15 minutes.

Sunwoda announced its ultrafast system on September 17, combining rapid charging, battery monitoring and a planned megawatt charging network.
Neutral rows show no reported change; BYD completed its 10,000th station by August 28 and targets 20,000 by end of 2026.
Sunwoda EVB said the system can meet warranty requirements of 10 years or 300,000 kilometers, with no limit on ultrafast charging sessions for noncommercial vehicles. The system combines smart battery cells 3.0, an energy domain controller and an AI cloud-control platform for battery monitoring and early fault detection. According to the company, it can warn of more than 20 fault types 2 to 10 days in advance with 99.77% accuracy.
The company also unveiled an open ecosystem platform combining solar power, energy storage and flash charging. It integrates flash-charging EV batteries, energy storage systems, megawatt charging units, high-power liquid-cooled terminals and an AI cloud-control platform. Sunwoda EVB said the platform can support vehicles from multiple brands and different partnership models.
The statement did not identify planned station locations, required investment, the first vehicle models to use the battery or a mass-production timetable. Sunwoda EVB’s target comes as ultrafast-charging competition in China expands from technology launches into charging-network deployment. BYD said it completed its 10,000th flash charging station in China on August 28 and is targeting 20,000 stations by the end of 2026.
