Tesla has shared European specifications for its Semi electric truck ahead of the model’s formal debut at IAA Transportation in Hannover later this month. In a post on X, Tesla Europe said the truck will deliver up to 550 kilometers of range at a fully loaded 40-tonne gross weight, with energy consumption of 1 kWh per kilometer. The company also listed Megacharger capability of up to 800 kW, which it said can recover about 60% of range in 30 minutes. Other published figures include an ePTO rating of up to 25 kW, a 40-tonne gross combination weight, and a curb weight of 9,100 kilograms.

The European numbers differ from the version Tesla has promoted in the United States. The U.S. Long Range Semi is rated at 500 miles, or 805 kilometers, on an 822 kWh battery. Tesla’s European range figure is quoted at a heavier gross weight than the company uses for its U.S. rating, and the lower curb weight suggests the European model may use a different battery configuration. Tesla has not said whether the European truck will use the same pack as the U.S. Long Range version or a separate setup.

Charging performance also appears different. Tesla has previously shown the Semi charging at up to 1.2 MW in the U.S., with about 70% of range recovered in 30 minutes. The company has not yet provided details on how its European charging network will be deployed.

Tesla is entering a European heavy-truck market where battery-electric models are already sold by Mercedes-Benz, Volvo Trucks, MAN, Scania, DAF, and Renault. Mercedes-Benz’s eActros 600 offers about 500 kilometers of range on a 600 kWh battery, placing Tesla’s European Semi in a competitive position on paper. Tesla said the Semi is still being built only at its high-volume factory next to Gigafactory Nevada, leaving open the question of whether European units will be imported or produced locally. Tesla has previously said it plans to build the Semi at its Berlin factory. The company has not announced European pricing or an on-sale date. Source: Electrek
