Xiaomi has surpassed 600,000 cumulative passenger vehicle deliveries since its first shipments in April 2024, the company announced on its social media channels. Achieving this milestone within 22 months highlights Xiaomi’s growing presence in China’s new-energy vehicle (NEV) market.
In January 2026, Xiaomi delivered 39,002 vehicles, with its YU7 mid-size electric SUV accounting for roughly 97 percent of that total. According to the company, this made the YU7 the top-selling individual EV model in China by retail sales for the month. The strong performance of the YU7 follows its launch in mid-2025, when it delivered more than 150,000 units in its first six months—more than double the comparable rollout of Xiaomi’s initial SU7 sedan.
During 2025, Xiaomi’s EV division exceeded internal expectations by delivering over 410,000 vehicles, positioning the brand among the faster-growing players in the NEV sector. December 2025 marked a record month, with deliveries surpassing 50,000 units, the highest single-month volume since the company entered the market.
Despite a general slowdown in NEV retail sales across China in January, Xiaomi’s YU7 maintained solid demand in the competitive mid-size SUV segment, even as sedan volumes softened and production of the SU7 drew to a close. The SU7, Xiaomi’s first electric sedan, has recently completed its production run, paving the way for new models.
Looking ahead, local media report that Xiaomi plans to introduce at least four additional models in 2026, including an updated version of the SU7 and new extended-range SUVs. Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s founder and chairman, has reaffirmed a delivery target of 550,000 vehicles for 2026—an increase of roughly 34 percent over last year. This goal reflects Xiaomi’s strategy to expand production capacity and roll out new variants to sustain sales momentum.
Industry observers also note Xiaomi’s potential to begin exports, with validation efforts reportedly underway for a European Union market entry in 2027. While formal export timelines for 2026 have not been disclosed, extending sales beyond China remains a key strategic consideration.
