High-performance lithium-ion pouch cells engineered for premium automotive applications featuring silicon-based anodes for improved energy density and charging speeds, proprietary cell chemistry and design, BASF-developed specialized cathode materials, and sustainable, state-of-the-art manufacturing processes at the Reutlingen-Kirchentellinsfurt facility with advanced quality control systems.
High-performance lithium-ion pouch cells with silicon-based anodes and BASF cathode materials, optimized for high energy density, fast charging and automotive safety standards.
In mid-2025, Porsche announced plans to restructure its battery operations, transforming Cellforce into a dedicated research and development (R&D) unit for high-performance cells, canceling gigafactory expansion plans due to limited market scale, and maintaining its long-term commitment to electrification and employee support. In a strategic realignment, the company intends to lay off approximately 200 of Cellforce’s 286 employees at its Kirchentellinsfurt site.
CELLFORCE Group is wholly owned by Porsche AG since 2023 and has received funding from the German Federal Ministry of Economics and the state of Baden-Württemberg under the IPCEI battery cell production initiative.
