Company Overview

ADS-TEC Energy was founded in 2017 following a spin-out from the ADS-TEC Group and has operational hubs in Germany and the United States with a registered office in Dublin, Ireland. The company specializes in battery-buffered energy storage platforms and ultra-fast EV charging systems, combining lithium-ion pack integration with proprietary cloud software. Initial strategic backing included Bosch. ADS-TEC Energy’s mission is to advance the transition to decentralized, renewable-based energy systems by enabling fast, grid-friendly EV charging and flexible storage services for commercial, utility and mobility customers.

Battery Technology

ADS-TEC Energy develops system-level solutions that combine modular lithium-ion battery packs with power electronics and cloud-based control. Core capabilities include battery-buffered ultra-fast charging up to 320 kW, cell-level monitoring, and a digital twin for lifecycle management and 10-year performance guarantees. Energy management features—peak shaving, self-consumption optimization and demand-charge reduction—allow operation on constrained grid connections without costly upgrades. The company sources high-grade cells and focuses on pack integration, thermal management, safety controls and remote diagnostics to improve longevity, operational availability and support integration with renewables and grid services.

Products

Key products include the ChargeBox and ChargePost ultra-fast chargers (up to 320 kW) that use integrated battery buffers to deliver rapid charging on limited grid capacity, modular battery energy storage systems for indoor/outdoor use, and cloud-based energy management software. Typical applications are EV fleets and public/commercial charging, industrial energy cost management, and commercial sites such as retail, hospitality and residential complexes.

Recent Projects

Recent activity includes a 2025 industry award for the ChargePost (Best of Mobility Readers’ Choice 2025) and commercial rollouts with partners such as MVV at Müller retail locations to finance, build and operate buffered fast-charging sites. ADS-TEC Energy also announced a flagship battery energy storage project targeting roughly 1 GW output and 2 GWh capacity aimed at supporting large-scale renewable integration and grid security.

Investors

Ownership combines strategic and institutional investors: ads-tec Holding (~29.2%), Mirabella Financial Services (~29.0%), Lucerne Capital (~22.2%) and additional strategic/financial backers including Svelland Capital and Bosch among others. Financing highlights include a private placement with Svelland and a $50 million convertible note offering in May 2025 to support expansion and project deployment.
