Company Overview

Ateios Systems, founded in 2017 and headquartered in Newberry, Indiana, USA, develops advanced electrode manufacturing technologies for lithium-ion batteries. The company focuses on solvent-free, energy-curable manufacturing processes that speed production, reduce emissions, and enable thicker, higher-energy electrodes. Ateios targets device makers and battery OEMs across consumer electronics, medical devices, IoT, mobility, and defense markets. Its stated mission is to make electrode production faster, safer, and more recyclable while lowering cost and energy use for large-scale battery manufacturing.

Battery Technology

Ateios’ core technology centers on the RaiCure™ platform: a solvent-free, cure-on-command process using energy-curable polymers rather than solvent-based thermal drying. RaiCure™ supports thicker electrodes (>10 mAh/cm²), higher energy density (claims up to ~50% improvement), and rapid curing that can increase coating throughput ~5x. The company also uses electron-beam manufacturing licensed from Oak Ridge National Laboratory to improve adhesion and speed. Products are PFA-free, designed for recyclability, and claim large reductions in energy use and emissions versus solvent-based processes.

Products

Ateios supplies high-energy electrode sheets and licensed manufacturing IP. Commercial products include RaiCore™ HV LCO cathodes, solvent-free synthetic graphite anodes, and LFP cathodes produced with RaiCure™ and electron-beam processes. Key features: thicker, higher-capacity electrodes, elimination of PFAS and solvents, rapid production speeds, and recyclable designs. Target applications span consumer electronics, medical devices, IoT and wearables, EVs, grid storage, and defense.

Recent Projects

Recent activities include a CES 2025 showcase of sample cells and demonstration hardware and commercial orders for solvent-free synthetic graphite anodes and LFP cathodes secured by July 2025. Ateios reports ongoing production collaborations with manufacturing partners to scale electrode output and validate energy and emissions savings at pilot and early commercial volumes.

Investors

Ateios has raised seed-stage capital and received government contracts and grants. Notable funding: a $1.25M seed round led by Good Growth Capital (2020) and a $1M investment from TitletownTech (2023). Additional backers and participants include Techstars, Keshif Ventures, HG Ventures, Impact Assets, VisionTech Angels, Elevate Ventures, and accelerator programs. Public funding and contracts include NSF SBIR awards and a $2.4M DoD/NSIC contract.
