In 2024, Ion commissioned a large-scale solid-state battery manufacturing facility in Beltsville, Maryland, with initial capacity of 1 MWh, planned to scale to 10 MWh by 2025 and 500 MWh by 2028, creating skilled manufacturing jobs and bolstering Maryland’s clean energy industry.
Key investors include Clear Creek Investments, VoLo Earth Ventures, Alsop Louie Partners, Toyota Ventures, Tenaska, Bangchak Corporation, GAINTECH Capital, Alumni Ventures Group, Z2Sixty Ventures and Climate Capital.
