Recent Projects
In early 2024, Tiamat secured €30 million in funding for its planned gigafactory near Amiens, France. The company aims to raise an additional €120 million to complete the facility, which will have an initial production capacity of 5 GWh of first-generation sodium-ion cells. The first phase targets an annual capacity of 700 MWh by late 2025. Tiamat also formed a strategic partnership with battery system manufacturer LEAD to facilitate its transition to large-scale production.
Investors
Tiamat has attracted significant investment from major industry players. Stellantis Ventures, the venture capital arm of the automotive manufacturer Stellantis, has provided strategic funding to support sodium-ion technology development. Additional investors include Arkema, a materials science company, MBDA, a defense equipment manufacturer, and Bpifrance, the French national investment bank. These partnerships strengthen Tiamat’s position in the battery manufacturing sector and support its expansion plans.
