DG Matrix and Skeleton Technologies have announced a strategic collaboration to accelerate the adoption of 800 VDC power infrastructure in AI data centers. The partnership combines Skeleton’s high-power, fast-response energy storage solutions with DG Matrix’s Interport™ solid-state transformer (SST) platform, aiming to enhance resilience and efficiency in next-generation data center deployments.
Under the agreement, Skeleton’s storage systems will be integrated across DG Matrix’s Interport CM medium-voltage skid—capable of converting 12–34.5 kV AC directly to high-voltage DC—and the Interport CL sidecar, which addresses GPU pulse loads in the white space. The collaboration also extends to Interport Flex, an outdoor grey-space product designed for skid-mounted, parallel deployment within the Interport 360 end-to-end solution. Together, these technologies tackle extreme, repetitive pulse loads from densely packed GPU clusters that often exceed the dynamic response capabilities of conventional UPS and battery systems.
Skeleton’s power systems can react in microseconds to minutes, absorbing peak demands before they impact upstream infrastructure. Meanwhile, DG Matrix’s Interport platform manages real-time power routing among AC and DC sources, storage assets, and loads at multiple voltage levels through software-defined, multi-port conversion. This integrated approach supports load transient absorption, fault ride-through, and rapid backup power—all crucial for AI workloads that introduce highly dynamic power requirements.

Industry research projects that by 2030, approximately 39 gigawatts of new AI data center capacity will leverage 800 VDC systems, creating an SST total addressable market of around $13 billion. Both companies already support this voltage class: DG Matrix’s Interport platform natively accommodates 800 VDC, while Skeleton’s GrapheneCBU800 and GrapheneBBU800 systems are designed for the same specification.
