At the 2026 Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE) in Shanghai, Chinese home-appliance manufacturer Dreame introduced a new solid-state battery pack featuring 60 Ah cells. Branded the “Starry Sky Crystal Core Power Battery,” the pack is described by Dreame as the first volume-production-ready solid-state battery from the company. Small-batch deliveries are set to begin later this year, with mass production planned for 2027.
Dreame, founded by Yu Hao and integrated into the Xiaomi Ecological Chain in 2017, expanded into the automotive segment last year. The company has since presented several concept vehicles under its Kosmera, Star Motor and Nebula marques, drawing attention for their stylistic affinities with established luxury models. At AWE, Dreame also revealed the Nebula Next 01X crossover, which teases the application of its new solid-state technology.
Earlier disclosures detailed the Nebula Next 01 concept car’s chassis and drivetrain: a torsional stiffness exceeding 45,000 Nm/deg, a drag coefficient of 0.185 Cd, and a quad-motor setup delivering a combined peak output of 1,903 hp. While Dreame has not specified whether the battery cells were developed in-house, the company emphasized the pack’s readiness for production.
Industry observers have speculated that Dreame may source cells from GAC Group, which recently commissioned its first large-capacity solid-state cell line. These GAC cells also offer a 60 Ah capacity and an areal energy density of up to 7.7 mAh/cm². According to GAC, vehicles equipped with similar solid-state cells could nearly double driving range compared to conventional lithium-ion packs.
Although Dreame’s battery announcement marks a notable step in its diversification strategy, further technical details and independent performance data have yet to be disclosed. As the company prepares for initial deliveries this year, stakeholders will be watching for validation of solid-state performance claims and integration with future production vehicles.
