HiTHIUM, a global energy storage technology company based in Xiamen, China, unveiled its next-generation integrated sodium-ion energy storage solution at its “Powered Day in, Day out” launch event on Sept. 16, 2026. The new product lineup includes the ∞Power N4.0MWh, a 4MWh sodium-ion energy storage system built around HiTHIUM’s ∞Cell N785Ah sodium-ion battery. The company said it expects to begin full-scale production and delivery in 2027.
HiTHIUM positioned the launch as part of its effort to move sodium-ion technology from validation to large-scale deployment. The company said its approach draws on integrated capabilities across materials, battery cells, manufacturing, system integration, station applications, and lifecycle services. It highlighted sodium’s wide availability as a key advantage for resource security and supply-chain stability.
According to HiTHIUM, the ∞Cell N785Ah is designed for energy storage applications and offers a 20,000-cycle service life, with support for storage durations ranging from two to eight hours. The company also said the cell is compatible with its 1,000 Ah lithium-ion manufacturing platform, including existing cell and system integration production lines, which could support faster scale-up of sodium-ion manufacturing.
The ∞Power N4.0MWh system features a stacked-cell design, a dedicated battery management system with state-of-charge estimation accuracy of less than or equal to 2.5%, and compatibility with 800V to 1,500V power conversion systems. HiTHIUM said these features increase rated-power utilization by more than 20% compared with its previous-generation sodium-ion system.
The company added that system architecture optimization reduces the station footprint by 30% and delivers 24-hour comprehensive efficiency of more than 88%. A hybrid air-liquid cooling system, AI-enabled thermal management, and integrated meteorological monitoring are intended to lower operating auxiliary power consumption by 30% and standby auxiliary power consumption by 50%.
HiTHIUM said the platform is designed for a 30-year service life and may eventually extend beyond utility-scale storage into commercial and industrial, residential, and broader energy access applications. The company also introduced the ∞Edge Pioneer Program to test batteries and systems in extreme environments over the next three years.
