Skeleton Technologies announced on October 14, 2026, that it secured a strategic investment led by Siemens AG, bringing the company’s valuation to more than $1 billion. The investment is intended primarily to expand Skeleton’s U.S. manufacturing presence and research and development activities in Silicon Valley for AI data-center power systems.
Skeleton plans to invest more than $200 million in operational scale-up and R&D in Silicon Valley, where it will work directly with hyperscale data-center operators. The expansion includes plans for domestic cell manufacturing, which the company said would create an integrated U.S. value chain extending from cells to complete systems.
Skeleton’s power systems are designed to address rapid changes in electricity demand from GPU clusters, which can switch between power states in milliseconds and create load swings, peaks and harmonics. The systems manage these fluctuations near the computing workload. Skeleton claims they can provide up to 40% energy savings and double-digit improvements in GPU performance.
The technology uses Skeleton’s proprietary Curved Graphene material, which is engineered for fast power delivery, efficiency and long cell life. The company combines its cells with power electronics and system-level controls to manage changing power requirements in AI computing clusters.
According to International Energy Agency figures cited by Skeleton, global data-center electricity consumption is expected to increase from around 485 TWh in 2025 to 950 TWh by 2030. Electricity use by AI-focused data centers is expected to triple, while data centers are projected to account for around half of U.S. electricity-demand growth through 2030.
The investment extends an existing relationship between the companies. Siemens supported Skeleton’s expansion in 2023, and Siemens Digital Industries designed and automated Skeleton’s Leipzig SuperFactory in Germany. The companies now plan to combine Siemens’ industrial electrical infrastructure with Skeleton’s fast-response power systems to develop and commercialize products for AI data centers, covering applications from the grid to the server rack.
