The firm focuses on late-stage venture capital and early-growth private equity opportunities in six areas: carbon capture, utilization and storage; bio-based and low-carbon products; next generation energy; advanced mobility; carbon management services; and digital transformation. By backing de-risked technologies that are ready to scale, the team provides hands-on support through market relationships, technical guidance and capital markets access. This model aims to move solutions from pilot phases to large-scale deployment.
Many investments highlight the firm’s interest in energy storage and material innovations. For instance, Ascend Elements produces recycled lithium-ion battery materials, while Group14 Technologies develops silicon anode materials to improve performance and cost. Antora’s thermal batteries store renewable electricity as industrial heat, and Monolith uses methane pyrolysis to deliver hydrogen and carbon black. Complementary investments include MycoWorks’ sustainable mycelium materials, Carbon Direct’s carbon management platform, ConnectDER’s home electrification adapters and Orennia’s data analytics for energy transition projects.
