Company Overview

INGUN Group, founded in 1971 as INGenieur Union and headquartered in Constance, Germany, designs and manufactures high-precision test and contacting components. The privately held company serves global electronics markets with probes, test adapters and fixtures for sectors including automotive, e-mobility, telecommunications, medical and aerospace. INGUN emphasizes quality, reliability and ongoing product development to support manufacturers’ test and validation needs. The company positions its “Verified by INGUN” mark as an assurance of consistent performance and application-specific solutions.

Battery Technology

INGUN develops precision contacting and test technologies including spring-loaded contact pins, high-frequency probes, high-current contacts and modular fixtures. Technical highlights include 360° fine-pitch contacting, four-wire measurement integration with temperature sensing, and coatings (e.g., palladium-based Clevercoat) to reduce tarnishing and contact resistance. Designs support high-current formation and validation, low-ohmic contact (<10 mΩ typical), and active/passive cooling for thermal stability. Supporting technologies include vacuum, pneumatic and rigid-pin adapters and non-moving cable solutions to improve durability and measurement repeatability in battery and electronics production.

Products

INGUN’s product range covers test adapter kits, contact pins, expansion accessories and tools. Offerings include manual, pneumatic and vacuum test adapters, HF/RF probes, ICT/FCT pins, high-current and custom contact pins, plus accessories and cross-reference support. Products are used in automotive/e-mobility, telecom, medical, aerospace and renewable energy testing and production lines to enable reliable electrical contact, measurement accuracy and production throughput.

Recent Projects

Recent activities in 2025 include the launch of the BCP high-current contacting series (June 2025) designed for compact high-current cell contacting up to 300 A, development of modular universal fixtures for cylindrical battery testing, and preparation of customizable contacting solutions for solid-state cell validation. These efforts focused on improving contact reliability, scalability and thermal management for battery formation and end-of-line testing. INGUN also presented product developments at industry trade events in 2025.

Investors

INGUN Group is privately held and family-owned by the Karl family. Senior management includes Armin Karl (Managing Director) and Wolfgang Karl (Chairman). The company operates without public equity financing; there are no disclosed external investors or venture funding rounds. Ownership and manufacturing remain consolidated at the group level.
