NJR Clean Energy Ventures is part of New Jersey Resources and has built a strong presence in solar energy markets since 2010. Based in Wall Township, New Jersey, the company develops, invests in, owns, and operates clean power projects across the Northeast United States, with additional activities in Indiana and Michigan. To date, NJRCEV has put nearly 470 megawatts of solar capacity into service and directed more than $1.2 billion toward solar assets that serve residential, commercial, and wholesale customers. The firm’s approach supports long-term growth goals for its parent company while providing sustainable energy options for communities and businesses. These efforts also support regional decarbonization initiatives and foster local job growth.
Investment efforts focus on utility-scale and commercial solar farms, community solar programs, and integrative projects for small and midsize enterprises. Until late 2024, the company managed a residential solar portfolio through Sunlight Advantage, which has since been sold. Current partnerships include a collaboration with CI Renewables to develop new mid-Atlantic solar installations and ongoing solar farm expansions that meet state carbon reduction objectives. Alongside solar generation, NJRCEV applies battery storage systems to enhance grid reliability and extend renewable output. A partnership with Verogy supports integration of energy storage into newly built and existing solar sites, enabling load management and peak shaving. Rather than funding early-stage technology startups, the company invests directly in operational renewable infrastructure, adding storage capacity to its portfolio and reinforcing its role as an operator and owner of mature clean energy projects.
