Envision Energy and Elements Green have announced a partnership to develop the Stadorf battery energy storage system (BESS) in northern Germany. Revealed at Intersolar Europe in Munich, the project will feature a 400 MW/1,600 MWh capacity, making it one of the largest storage installations currently in development in Germany. This collaboration marks a significant step in deploying Envision’s Future Energy System within the German market and builds on Elements Green’s expanding European portfolio.
Envision will supply an integrated, system-level storage solution centered on its Gen 8 BESS platform. The design combines four-hour energy duration, advanced battery technologies, and intelligent grid integration powered by artificial intelligence. Aiming to satisfy Germany’s stringent criteria for quality, reliability, and technical performance, the Stadorf installation is engineered to navigate complex engineering, regulatory, and grid-integration requirements. When complete, it is expected to enhance grid flexibility and resilience while supporting Europe’s transition to a low-carbon energy infrastructure.
Henry Peng, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy and President of its Europe and Latin America regions, said the partnership exemplifies how local market knowledge and global delivery experience can address the technical challenges of large-scale storage projects. “By combining Elements Green’s strong local presence with Envision’s advanced Gen 8 BESS platform, AI-powered Future Energy System, and proven delivery track record, we have been able to meet Germany’s complex engineering and regulatory needs,” Peng noted.
Elements Green CEO Rasmus Friis emphasized the role of battery storage in facilitating Germany’s shift toward renewable power. “Storage makes renewable energy flexible, dispatchable, and useful to the grid,” he said. Friis added that selecting partners and platforms with high performance, efficiency, and longevity is critical, because these assets define outcomes for decades. He described Stadorf as a reflection of both companies’ commitment to delivering durable infrastructure that supports Germany’s energy transition in the long term.
