Envision Energy has partnered with ju:niz Energy to deliver two new battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Germany, with a combined capacity of 140.6 megawatt-hours (MWh). The announcement was made at Intersolar Europe in Munich and represents Envision’s strategic entry into one of Europe’s key energy storage markets.

The collaboration encompasses two sites: S10 in Baindt, southern Germany, offering 88.4 MWh of storage capacity, and S15 in Schöningen, northern Germany, with 52.2 MWh. ju:niz Energy, acting as project developer, owner and operator, will manage stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance and milestone delivery. Envision Energy will serve as a primary technology partner, providing its Gen 8 BESS platform. This platform incorporates four-hour duration batteries, advanced cell chemistry and grid-forming inverters, all coordinated by Envision’s AI-driven Future Energy Systems software.

Designed to address Germany’s growing need for flexible and reliable power infrastructure, these installations will enhance grid stability, support higher levels of renewable integration and improve overall system resilience. By demonstrating performance across different regional grid conditions, the projects aim to establish a scalable reference for next-generation storage deployments throughout Europe.

Backed by ju:niz’s deep understanding of Germany’s regulatory and technical landscape and Envision’s global delivery track record, the partnership combines local insight with advanced technology to ensure reliable execution in a complex market. Future cooperation between the companies will explore opportunities to expand storage infrastructure and bolster energy system flexibility across the region.

Henry Peng, Senior Vice President and President of Envision Energy’s Europe and Latin America Regions, commented, “These projects mark an important milestone for Envision’s expansion in Germany and Europe. By combining our integrated Gen 8 BESS platform with grid-forming capabilities, we aim to turn innovation into long-term system value and support a more resilient energy future.”

Dr. Thomas Stephanblome, CEO of ju:niz Energy, added, “Germany’s energy transition is entering a new phase where advanced storage will be critical for integrating renewables and ensuring reliable power. Our collaboration with Envision reflects our shared ambition to deliver high-quality storage solutions tailored to evolving grid requirements and create a replicable pathway across the region.”
