Envision Energy has entered into a partnership with Pulse Clean Energy to deliver a 129 MW / 310 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK. The collaboration, announced at Intersolar Europe in Munich, marks a significant advancement for Envision’s Future Energy Systems deployment in the UK, supporting more flexible, resilient and low-carbon energy infrastructure.

Initially designed for a two-hour discharge duration, Envision has optimized the system to provide 2.4 hours of autonomy, illustrating the adaptability of its technology to meet changing grid requirements. The project will integrate Envision’s Gen 7 BESS platform, advanced battery technologies and grid-forming capabilities, underpinned by the company’s AI-powered Future Energy Systems architecture. This system-level storage solution is intended to enhance grid stability, improve system flexibility and address the growing electricity demand associated with electrification.

Envision’s locally based team will manage grid integration and Balance-of-Plant scope, tailoring the installation to the evolving needs of the UK energy market. The BESS is expected to facilitate greater integration of renewable energy, bolster regional resilience and contribute to decarbonization efforts in key local industries such as manufacturing and logistics. Independent third-party ESG due diligence has been completed to ensure transparent operations, responsible delivery and sustainable development practices.

Henry Peng, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy and President of the Europe and LATAM regions, said the partnership reflects Envision’s role as a trusted system-level partner. He noted that intelligent, flexible and resilient energy infrastructure will be essential as the global energy system transforms, and emphasized Envision’s commitment to enabling adaptive energy ecosystems that accelerate renewable integration and support industrial decarbonization.

Aazzum Yassir, Director of Technology and Operations at Pulse Clean Energy, highlighted the critical role of battery storage in modern energy systems, noting its ability to balance supply and demand, improve grid security and lower power costs for consumers and businesses. Vasilis Ntanovasilis, Director of Asset Delivery at Pulse Clean Energy, added that the collaboration aligns with both companies’ ambition to accelerate the UK’s energy transition and establish a benchmark for large-scale storage infrastructure.
