INPOW Battery, the energy storage arm of GAC Group, made its European debut at Intersolar Europe 2026 with the launch of a mass-produced 587 Ah semi-solid-state energy storage cell and a 6.25 MWh liquid-cooled utility-scale system. This introduction marks the company’s official entry into the European energy storage market and a key step in its global expansion strategy.

The new 587 Ah cell leverages a proprietary composite oxide-polymer electrolyte that reduces free liquid electrolyte content to under 0.01%. This design offers safety performance approaching that of fully solid-state batteries while maintaining the cost efficiency and scalability of mass production. At 587 Ah, it is the highest-capacity semi-solid-state cell available globally. To validate its safety credentials, the cell successfully endured extreme abuse tests, including compression at ten times national standards, full-cell cutting, one-hour exposure to 200 °C, and direct flame contact exceeding 1,000 °C—without fire or explosion.

Based on this cell platform, INPOW unveiled a 6.25 MWh liquid-cooled energy storage solution tailored for utility-scale renewable integration, grid balancing, and long-duration storage applications. The system features triple-layer safety protection, AI-powered predictive diagnostics, and a cloud-based monitoring platform capable of identifying potential issues up to 20 days in advance and issuing thermal runaway warnings up to 24 hours before a failure event.

As part of its European localization plan, INPOW will establish a sales and technical service center in Europe by October 2026. The center will offer local technical support, after-sales service, spare parts supply, and project development assistance. Xu Junhai, General Manager of INPOW Battery, emphasized Europe’s strategic importance and the company’s commitment to bringing automotive-grade safety standards, advanced battery technology, and enduring local support to its European partners. Backed by GAC Group’s automotive manufacturing expertise, INPOW aims to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable energy storage solutions worldwide.
