This week includes multiple product launches at Intersolar Europe 2026 from Ampace, Envision, and INPOW Battery, plus new large-scale storage projects such as BYD and Greenvolt’s planned 600 MW/2.4 GWh site in Poland and Envision and Elements Green’s 400 MW/1,600 MWh system in Germany. We also cover circularity initiatives led by CATL, a major EV battery reuse plant opening in Vancouver, and new EV battery safety standards in China.

🔋 CATL and Galbot Partner on Humanoid Robots for Smart Manufacturing

CATL and Galbot will work together to deploy the Galbot S1 humanoid robot using CATL battery cells. The partners also plan to establish a global aftermarket service standard for these machines. Read more

🔋 Data Center Battery Market Forecast to Reach $10.23B by 2032

MarketsandMarkets projects the global data center battery market will grow from $4.82B in 2026 to $10.23B by 2032. The report cites rising digital workloads and continued adoption of lithium-ion across BESS and UPS use cases. Read more

🔋 PowerBank and Nodiac.ai Sign JDA for Modular Data Centers

PowerBank and Nodiac.ai signed a joint development agreement to deploy 1–20 MW containerized modular data centers at PowerBank solar and battery storage sites in North America. The plan focuses on siting compute alongside onsite renewables. Read more

🔋 Avatr Expands into Greece Through Autohellas Partnership

Avatr Technology entered the Greek market via a partnership with Autohellas as part of its European expansion. Avatr is backed by Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei. Read more

🔋 Volkswagen Reviews Bringing China-Developed SUVs to Zwickau

Volkswagen is assessing importing or producing two China-developed SUVs at its Zwickau plant, including the SAIC co-developed ID. ERA 9X and a CSP-based model. The review includes regulatory adjustments, software compliance, and production viability. Read more

🔋 Ampace Launches UniC AG440 and PR-S3 Elite Storage Systems

At Intersolar Europe 2026, Ampace introduced UniC AG440, a CATL co-developed commercial storage system described as delivering nearly 20 MWh in half the footprint. Ampace also presented PR-S3 Elite, a residential unit designed for cold-climate operation. Read more

🔋 Envision Showcases Renewable Power and Storage Systems at Intersolar

Envision presented end-to-end renewable power offerings including an AI Power System for data centers, a Gen 8 long-duration 4.X MWh storage system, and a hybrid wind-solar-storage platform with an in-house inverter. The announcements were made at Intersolar Europe 2026. Read more

🔋 INPOW Battery Introduces 587Ah Semi-Solid Cell and 6.25 MWh System

INPOW Battery, GAC Group’s energy storage arm, debuted a 587 Ah semi-solid-state cell at Intersolar Europe 2026. It also introduced a 6.25 MWh liquid-cooled utility system featuring diagnostics and a triple-layer safety approach. Read more

🔋 Envision and Elements Green Plan 400 MW/1,600 MWh BESS in Germany

Envision Energy and Elements Green will deploy a 400 MW/1,600 MWh battery energy storage system in northern Germany. The four-hour system uses Envision’s Gen 8 platform and is described as supporting network flexibility and resilience. Read more

🔋 BYD and Greenvolt to Develop 600 MW/2.4 GWh Storage Site in Poland

🔋 Ford and CATL Finalize Michigan LFP Cell Plant

🔋 China Moves to Anthracite-Based Hard Carbon Anodes for Sodium-Ion

Chinese automakers are redesigning sodium-ion batteries with domestic anthracite-based hard carbon anodes due to coconut shell supply constraints. The shift is described as supporting cost reduction and production scale-up for EVs and grid storage. Read more

🔋 Sicona Secures $45M ARENA Grant for Illawarra Silicon-Carbon Anode Plant

Sicona Battery Technologies received a $45 million ARENA grant to establish a commercial-scale silicon-carbon anode facility in Illawarra. The project targets 230 tonnes per year of SiCx material intended to improve energy density and charging speeds. Read more

🔋 CATL Receives Final Permit to Restart Jianxiawo Lithium Mine

CATL obtained the final safety permit for its Jianxiawo lithium mine in Yichun, Jiangxi, clearing the last regulatory step to resume extraction after a yearlong halt. The company is also increasing investment in sodium-ion batteries in response to rising lithium costs. Read more

🔋 CATL and Partners Launch Battery Circularity Standards Effort

During London Climate Action Week, CATL teamed with partners including Google, Xiaomi, and BMW to set global battery circularity standards. The alliance plans a 2027 guide covering disassembly, health metrics, and recycling specifications aimed at supporting reuse and reducing carbon. Read more

🔋 Moment Energy Opens EV Battery Reuse Facility in Vancouver

Moment Energy opened Megafactory 1 in Vancouver, described as the world’s largest facility repurposing retired EV batteries into modular energy storage for critical infrastructure. The company targets 1 GWh of annual output by 2030. Read more
