Li Auto said it will introduce its first European model at the Paris Motor Show in October, with sales planned to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026. The battery-electric i6 SUV will be marketed overseas as the Li 6, according to the company’s September 10 announcement.
The automaker said it will use the show to present its global product lineup and outline its European business plans. However, it has not yet disclosed the first markets it will enter in Europe, local pricing, or sales channel arrangements. According to Autocar, the United Kingdom is being considered for the launch of the Li 6 because it does not face the countervailing tariffs applied in the European Union. CarNewsChina sources also said Li Auto is actively looking for dealers in Germany, the Netherlands, and other EU markets.
Li Auto marked its European expansion with a partnership at the 2026 Solheim Cup in the Netherlands on September 10. The company provided 20 i6 SUVs to transport players and VIP guests, and it is also displaying a Mega electric MPV at the event. Li Auto described the sponsorship as the formal beginning of its European rollout.
The company plans to sell battery-electric vehicles in Europe, while its L-series extended-range SUVs will be targeted at the Middle East and Central Asia. The L-series includes the L6, L7, L8, and L9, while the battery-electric lineup consists of the i6, i8, and Mega MPV. Earlier this month, Li Auto launched the new L9 in Dubai after previous introductions in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The i6 entered the Chinese market in September 2025. It is 4,950 mm long and is offered with rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants. The Chinese rear-wheel-drive version has an 87.3 kWh battery and a CLTC range of 720 km, equivalent to 583 km under WLTP testing.
The European move comes as Li Auto’s deliveries return to growth. The company delivered 37,679 vehicles in August, up 32.1% from a year earlier, ending three straight months of annual declines. Deliveries for the first eight months of the year totaled 261,619 vehicles, down 0.6% year over year. The i6 is currently Li Auto’s best-selling model in China, with 152,842 units sold from January through August, accounting for 59% of domestic sales.
