Rock Tech Lithium Inc. announced on September 22, 2026, that it has signed agreements with Siemens Canada to advance a digital twin and provide engineering support for the planned Red Rock Lithium Converter in Ontario. The work will support Rock Tech’s ongoing definitive feasibility study for the project.
The agreements are the first implementation phase under a memorandum of understanding signed by the companies in March 2026. That memorandum established a roadmap for applying German lithium conversion expertise and Siemens’ industrial digitalization technology to the planned converter.
The initial phase will focus on a digital process twin. According to Rock Tech, the physics-based virtual model will represent the plant’s processes, energy flows and material streams, allowing project teams to test and validate design choices, efficiency, emissions and operational reliability before committing major capital. The digital twin is ultimately intended to cover the project lifecycle from feasibility and engineering through construction and operations.
Siemens Canada will also provide specialized support in process control, instrumentation and automation architecture as part of the definitive feasibility study. The study began at the end of June 2026 and is expected to be completed by mid-December 2026. The companies will also evaluate whether their cooperation could be applied to future projects in other G7 countries.
Rock Tech said the collaboration is intended to support its plans for lithium supply chains serving Canada and other G7 markets. The company’s planned Ontario converter has a proposed capacity of up to 32,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent per year. Rock Tech is also developing a converter in Guben, Germany, with planned annual capacity of 24,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide monohydrate. The company intends to source raw materials from suppliers that meet its environmental, social and governance requirements, including its wholly owned Georgia Lake project in Canada.
