Stryten Energy LLC announced on October 1, 2026, that it completed its acquisition of C&D Technologies, Inc. and Trojan Battery Company, LLC. The transaction combines the businesses into a battery manufacturing and energy storage company serving transportation, essential power, industrial, military and government markets. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The combined company operates 18 battery manufacturing and component facilities across the United States, Mexico and China, with approximately 4,800 employees worldwide. It will operate under the Stryten Energy name while retaining the C&D Technologies and Trojan Battery product brands.
Stryten said it expects to invest in U.S. battery manufacturing capacity, facility modernization, equipment upgrades and workforce development. The planned investments are intended to expand domestic production capabilities for advanced lead and lithium battery technologies.
The company also plans to increase its domestic Absorbent Glass Mat battery manufacturing capacity. The additional AGM capacity is intended to meet demand from automotive aftermarket customers for batteries used in start-stop and hybrid vehicle applications, as well as vehicles with advanced electrical loads.
The acquisition also combines the companies’ military battery portfolios. Stryten plans to scale U.S.-based manufacturing capacity for batteries used in land warfare systems, air defense systems, naval surface and undersea systems, logistics, reserve power systems, nuclear power and other essential infrastructure.
Stryten’s broader technology portfolio includes advanced lead, lithium and vanadium redox flow batteries. Its products serve automotive, commercial vehicle, material handling, data center, telecommunications, utility, industrial, military and government applications, among other markets.
