Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited has started selling its largest 587 Ah lithium iron phosphate energy storage cell through its own online platform, CATL Mall. The cell, which had previously been listed as unavailable on the company’s site, is now priced at 435 yuan, or about $65, per kWh. Buyers must place a minimum order of 324 units, equivalent to three boxes.
CATL says the new cell is covered by a five-year warranty with no additional fees. Orders are scheduled to ship within three to five days. The 587 Ah model is being offered alongside CATL’s smaller 280 Ah and 314 Ah LFP cells, which were among the first products added to the platform.
The company began delivering the 587 Ah cell to large-scale customers in late 2025. Its appearance on CATL Mall now opens access to smaller and mid-sized system integrators that may not have had the purchasing power to secure the product directly before.
The cell is designed for energy storage applications and is rated for a 0.5C charge and discharge rate. That specification makes it unsuitable for electric vehicles and other high-power transportation uses. By comparison, CATL’s smaller LFP cells are rated at 1C.
CATL rates the 587 Ah cell for 8,000 cycles at 25 C with 70% state of health. The operating range for discharge is from minus 25 C to 60 C, while charging is permitted only between 0 C and 60 C. The cell measures 73.05/310/221.53 mm, weighs 10.6 plus or minus 0.3 kg, and delivers 1.88 kWh of energy capacity. CATL lists its energy density at 379 Wh/L.
CATL Mall has attracted more than 1,800 companies since launch, according to the company. However, buyers still need a valid Chinese business license to place orders. International customers generally would need to buy through a domestic broker or establish a subsidiary in mainland China.
For the new 587 Ah cell, a minimum order of 324 units costs roughly 265,000 yuan, or about $39,500, and provides 608 kWh of total capacity.
