GoldenPeaks Capital and Huawei Polska Sp. z o.o. have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on 500 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects in Central and Eastern Europe. The agreement, formalized by GoldenPeaks Capital’s Chief Procurement Officer, Fubin Lu, and Huawei Poland Digital Power Director Nathan Zhao, was witnessed by Adriano Agosti, Founder and Chairman of GoldenPeaks Capital, and Jianjun Zhou, Vice President of Huawei Digital Power and President of Global Marketing, Sales and Services.

The partnership aims to address grid stability challenges arising from the increasing share of renewable energy sources. Under the agreement, Huawei will supply its all-scenario grid-forming energy storage platform, adhering to rigorous safety standards. GoldenPeaks Capital will deploy these systems across its markets in Poland, Hungary and other European countries, overseeing site development, construction, commissioning and commercial operations.

Jianjun Zhou noted that Huawei Digital Power’s end-to-end expertise in research and development, production and services will support GoldenPeaks Capital’s energy storage strategy and contribute to the European Union’s carbon neutrality objectives. Adriano Agosti added that the combination of Huawei’s technological innovation and GoldenPeaks Capital’s regional presence will set new industry benchmarks for advanced battery storage.

GoldenPeaks Capital has been expanding its renewable portfolio in the region. In 2024, the company advanced its target of 1 GW of solar assets by acquiring an additional 283 MW of solar projects under construction. In June 2025, it integrated a 54 MW/216 MWh BESS into its operations, bringing its return-to-battery portfolio to 392 MW/1.6 GWh. All projects have secured 17-year revenue guarantees through Poland’s capacity market auctions.

Since beginning their collaboration seven years ago, Huawei and GoldenPeaks Capital have ensured the stable operation of 1.7 GW of solar projects in Poland and Hungary. The new 500 MWh commitment underscores GoldenPeaks Capital’s ongoing investment in its BESS business and its confidence in Huawei’s reliable technology. It also lays the foundation for future utility-scale BESS deployments across the company’s core markets.

GoldenPeaks Capital is one of the largest photovoltaic system owners and operators in Poland and Hungary, with more than 15 years of experience in developing, financing, constructing and managing renewable energy projects. The company has pioneered BESS + PV pilot installations in Eastern Europe and holds the highest sustainability quality score from Moody’s for its green bond framework.
