Group14 Technologies announced on October 29, 2026, that it closed a €150 million (approximately $169 million) Series D equity extension from a new, undisclosed investor. The financing brings the company’s Series D round to more than $665 million and supports an expansion of its SCC55 silicon-carbon battery material production into Europe.
Group14 Raises €150 Million for 10 GWh Spain Plant
The equity extension unlocks Group14’s third large-scale Battery Active Materials site and establishes its European manufacturing base in Sagunto, Spain.
Rows show announced site capacity, not year-on-year change; Group14 envisions hundreds of gigawatt-hours over the next decade.
The company selected Sagunto, Spain, for its next industrial-scale manufacturing module, designated BAM-4. The facility is planned with an initial capacity of 10 GWh. Group14 said establishing operations in Spain will place production near European automotive supply chains and provide localized support for customers in the region. The funding will also support broader manufacturing expansion for demand from automotive, consumer electronics, data center, aerospace and defense manufacturers.
BAM-4 is expected to raise Group14’s near-term manufacturing footprint to 40 GWh. This total includes one 10 GWh module at BAM-3 in Sangju, Korea, which is operational and scaling, and two modules totaling 20 GWh at BAM-2 in Moses Lake, Washington. The U.S. modules are expected to begin production in the first half of 2027.
Group14 has also operated BAM-1, a commercial pilot facility in Woodinville, Washington, since 2021. According to the company, that site has supplied SCC55 to more than 150 customers. Group14 said it aims to deploy hundreds of gigawatt-hours of production capacity over the next decade.
SCC55 is Group14’s flagship silicon-carbon material. The company said it is used in applications including smartphones, drones, hypercars and electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. Group14 also said its technology is covered by a global portfolio of more than 200 patents. The Spain project will give the company manufacturing operations across North America, Asia and Europe as it scales its supply of silicon battery materials.
