GoldenPeaks Capital, a leading independent power producer in Central and Eastern Europe, and Huawei Polska Sp. z o.o. have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on developing 500 MWh of grid-forming battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Europe. The agreement was formalized by Fubin Lu, Chief Procurement Officer of GoldenPeaks Capital, and Nathan Zhao, Director of Huawei Poland Digital Power. Founding executives Adriano Agosti of GoldenPeaks Capital and Jianjun Zhou of Huawei attended the signing ceremony.
The partnership aims to address grid stability challenges brought on by the rapid integration of renewable energy sources. Huawei will supply its All-Scenario Grid Forming energy storage platform, known for its high safety standards, while GoldenPeaks Capital will apply its deep market expertise in Poland, Hungary and other Central and Eastern European countries to drive deployment, commissioning and commercial operations.
“The signing of this MoU is an important milestone in the strategic cooperation between Huawei and GPC,” said Mr. Zhou. “Huawei Digital Power will support GPC’s energy storage strategy in Europe with All-Scenario Grid Forming capabilities and end-to-end high-quality standards covering R&D, production, and services, to jointly respond to the EU’s carbon neutrality goals.”
GoldenPeaks Capital plans to use the technical capabilities from this agreement to bolster its renewable portfolio, particularly in Poland and Hungary. In 2024, the company advanced toward its 1 GW asset target by acquiring an additional 283 MW of solar projects under construction. In June 2025, it added 54 MW/216 MWh of BESS capacity, bringing its total ready-to-build storage portfolio to 392 MW/1.6 GWh—all supported by 17-year revenue guarantees from Poland’s capacity market auctions.
Adriano Agosti, Founder and Chairman of GoldenPeaks Capital stated: “Huawei’s technological innovation and GPC’s regional business presence complement each other seamlessly. Together we are setting new industry benchmarks in advanced battery storage systems. Guided by a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability, GoldenPeaks Capital has leveraged its extensive expertise to become a leader in this field.”
Building on a seven-year collaboration that has supported the stable operation of 1.7 GW of solar assets in Poland and Hungary, the companies are now focused on deploying the initial 500 MWh of BESS projects. This initiative establishes a framework for future utility-scale storage developments across GoldenPeaks Capital’s core markets.
