Company Overview

Enerpoly AB, founded in 2018 in Stockholm, Sweden, develops and manufactures sustainable zinc-ion battery cells and packs. Its mission is to deliver affordable and reliable energy storage solutions using abundant materials like zinc and manganese, with a strategy emphasizing local sourcing and production to support renewable energy transitions.

Battery Technology

Enerpoly’s zinc-ion battery technology uses a zinc metal anode, manganese dioxide cathode and a water-based electrolyte, offering non-flammable, non-toxic and non-explosive safety benefits. The company’s patented solutions mitigate zinc dendrite formation and optimize cathode performance and electrolyte formulation. Its proprietary dry electrode manufacturing process enables efficient, scalable production at the Enerpoly Production Innovation Center (EPIC), targeting 100 MWh annual capacity by 2026 for stationary energy storage supporting grid stability and renewable integration.

Products

Enerpoly offers sustainable zinc-ion battery cells and packs designed for stationary energy storage applications. The products feature non-toxic, non-flammable chemistry, modular pack designs and scalable capacity supporting grid-scale deployments.

Recent Projects

Enerpoly has inaugurated the world’s first zinc-ion battery megafactory, the Enerpoly Production Innovation Center (EPIC), in Rosersberg, Sweden. Commissioning of the facility has begun, and commercial production of zinc-ion battery cells is expected to start in 2025, with full capacity of 100 MWh per year targeted by 2026.

Investors

Enerpoly is backed by Fredrik Sidhagen, Johan Nord, Eirik Winter, Malin Engman and André Rhodin. The company secured an SEK 88.5M grant from the Swedish Energy Agency, €2M from the European Innovation Council, and additional funding from Vinnova and the Eurostars Programme.
