- 🔋 CATL and SERES Plan 10–12 GWh Battery Capacity Expansion – CATL and SERES signed a long-term agreement covering battery supply, factory expansion, charging services and overseas markets. Phase 2 of their Chongqing plant-in-plant project is planned for 10–12 GWh annually. Read more
- 🔋 Gotion Sets Commissioning for 20 GWh Morocco Plant – Gotion Power Morocco will begin commissioning equipment at its Kenitra LFP cell plant during the week of October 20. The $1.3 billion first phase is designed for 20 GWh of annual capacity, with output ramping gradually. Read more
- 🔋 BMW Group Starts Gen6 Battery Production in Shenyang – BMW Group has begun series production of Gen6 high-voltage batteries in Shenyang, its third site for the technology. The locally assembled packs will supply future Neue Klasse electric vehicles built in China. Read more
- 🔋 Siemens-Led Investment Values Skeleton Above $1 Billion – Siemens led a strategic investment in Skeleton Technologies that values the company above $1 billion. Skeleton plans to invest more than $200 million in U.S. manufacturing and Silicon Valley R&D operations. Read more
- 🔋 Sakuu SPAC Deal Implies a $600 Million Equity Value – Sakuu and Pyrophyte Acquisition Corp. II agreed to a business combination implying a $600 million pre-money equity value. Proceeds are expected to support commercialization of the Kavian dry-electrode printing platform. Read more
- 🔋 BYD Unveils First Self-Developed Humanoid Robot Design – BYD has revealed the patented design of its first self-developed humanoid robot, a platform intended for service, education and industrial work. The company is developing perception, decision-making and execution systems. Read more

- 🔋 China’s September NEV Sales Rise 13.6% to 1.823 Million – China’s NEV sales reached 1.823 million units in September, up 13.6% year over year, as exports surged 160%. Record BEV sales offset a 9.4% decline in domestic NEV demand, and NEVs accounted for 61.6% of total vehicle sales. Read more
- 🔋 BYD Leads September NEV Exports With 174,277 Vehicles – BYD led China’s passenger NEV exports in September with 174,277 vehicles, despite a monthly decline and reduced market share. Chery overtook Geely for second place, while Tesla China remained fourth in the CPCA ranking. Read more
- 🔋 China NEV Retail Sales Fall 13% in Early October – China’s passenger NEV retail sales reached 281,000 units from October 1-11, down 13% year over year, while wholesale volume rose 6% to 301,000. Retail penetration eased to 61.2% as wholesale penetration reached 78.1%. Read more
- 🔋 BYD Plans 3,000 European Flash Chargers by 2027 – BYD plans to deploy 100 flash chargers in Europe by the end of 2026 and expand the network to 3,000 by the end of 2027. Its 1,500 kW system can charge compatible batteries from 10% to 70% in five minutes. Read more
- 🔋 Tesla Shows Roadster With SpaceX Cold-Gas Thrusters – Tesla demonstrated a redesigned Roadster using SpaceX cold-gas thrusters to jump about 10 meters and rotate in the air. The company said the electric sports car reached 60 mph in 0.81 seconds, with production planned for 2028. Read more

- 🔋 ProLogium and Rimac Target 2027 Functional Battery Pack – ProLogium and Rimac Technology have completed an EV battery pack concept mockup and are developing a functional segment. - 🔋 Sakuu Prints 100% Dry Metal-Free Carbon Battery Cell – Sakuu has produced a functional, metal-free battery cell with fully dry-printed anode and cathode layers on its Kavian platform. - 🔋 Gelion Signs Automotive Battery Cathode Testing Agreement – Gelion has signed a co-funded proof-of-concept agreement with an unnamed top-five global automotive OEM to test its Nano-Encapsulated Sulfur cathode material under conditions relevant to electric vehicle batteries. Read more
- 🔋 HPB Partners With Swiss Firms on Electrode Production – HPB is working with Mathis and TSE Troller to prepare its solid-state battery electrode coating process for industrial roll-to-sheet production. - 🔋 France and Germany Agree on EU Car Policy After 2035 – France and Germany agreed to drop the 2035 carbon-neutrality target for cars, ease rules for combustion engines and plug-in hybrids, and restrict vehicle subsidies to qualifying European production under a joint policy deal. Read more
- 🔋 T&E Warns Franco-German Deal Puts 254 GWh at Risk – T&E says a Franco-German proposal to weaken EU car CO₂ and battery sourcing rules could lower EV supply to 43% in 2030 and put 254 GWh of European battery capacity at risk. It is urging EU lawmakers to reject the changes. Read more
- 🔋 China Cuts NEV Export VAT Rebate to 9% in 2027 – China will lower its NEV export VAT rebate from 13% to 9% on April 1, 2027, increasing pressure on automakers’ overseas margins. Deutsche Bank estimates BYD could lose about 5,000 yuan per exported vehicle. Read more

- 🔋 EnergyX, Trafigura Sign 100,000-Ton Lithium Offtake Deal – EnergyX has signed a binding 10-year offtake agreement for Trafigura to purchase 100,000 metric tons of battery-grade lithium products. The supply will come from EnergyX projects in Chile and Texas. Read more
- 🔋 Rock Tech Lithium Closes C$6 Million Private Placement – Rock Tech Lithium raised about C$6 million through a three-tranche private placement of 9.2 million units. The proceeds will support studies at Georgia Lake, development of the Red Rock Converter and working capital. Read more
