EAS Batteries began sales of its 22 Ah UHP601300-LFP-22 cell using Asahi Kasei’s Acetolyte electrolyte. It lists 2,550 W/kg continuous power, 3,760 W/kg pulse power, and a 2,400-cycle life, with 46xxx prototypes due in 2026. Read more

Hongli Group formed a New Energy Solid-State Battery Division and appointed Dr. Philip A. Medina to lead its work on solid-state lithium-ion batteries. The stated targets include improved safety, energy density, and cycle life for EVs and grid storage. Read more

🔋 China’s EV Makers Report May 2026 NEV Deliveries

China’s EV makers reported May 2026 NEV deliveries, with BYD at 376,990 units and its Fang Cheng Bao sub-brand up 139.7%. Zeekr, Leapmotor, and Nio reported record months, while Li Auto and Xpeng declined. Read more

🔋 Nissan to Build Chery Models at Sunderland Plant Starting Fiscal 2027

China’s passenger NEV retail sales fell 5% year-on-year to 974,000 units in May, marking a fifth consecutive monthly decline. Sales rose 15% from April, and NEV penetration reached 63%. Read more

🔋 Samsung SDI to Produce VW Unified Prismatic Cells in Hungary

Samsung SDI will convert two lines at its Göd, Hungary plant to make Volkswagen’s Unified cell, with mass production starting next year. The side-terminal prismatic design supports multiple chemistries and is positioned to meet EU sourcing rules. Read more

🔋 Moment Energy to Open 1 GWh Battery Repurposing Hub in Vancouver

Moment Energy plans to open a 1 GWh battery repurposing facility in Vancouver by June 2026. The company says the site will convert retired EV batteries into grid-scale storage and support data centers and utilities, creating over 100 jobs. Read more

B2U Storage Solutions will repurpose retired Waymo lithium-ion packs into grid-connected storage using its EV Pack Storage technology. The partners aim to extend battery life for grid services and recover materials later for recycling. Read more

🔋 LibertyStream Ships First U.S. Lithium Carbonate from Texas DLE and Refining Site

LibertyStream Infrastructure Partners shipped its first tonne of lithium carbonate to a U.S. industrial customer from its Texas DLE and refining facility. The shipment is presented as validation of its production model ahead of expanded operations. Read more

🔋 Alsym and Re:Build Sign MOU to Scale U.S. Sodium-Ion Cell Production

Alsym Energy and Re:Build Manufacturing signed an MOU to establish U.S. commercial-scale sodium-ion battery cell production. The effort pairs Alsym’s non-flammable sodium-ion technology with Re:Build’s manufacturing capabilities. Read more

🔋 Tesla Withdraws Notice to End Syrah Graphite Supply Deal

Syrah Resources said Tesla withdrew its notice to end a 2021 graphite supply deal after accepting that Vidalia plant samples meet specifications. Syrah said the 8,000-ton contract extends to 2025, with final approval risks still noted. Read more

🔋 Vianode and cylib to Test Recycled Graphite for Next-Generation Anodes

Vianode and cylib signed an MOU to test recycled graphite from cylib’s OLiC process in Vianode’s next-generation anodes. The partners point to European material independence and reduced battery-chain CO2 emissions via circular feedstock. Read more
