- 🔋 Ultium Plans $1B Spring Hill Battery Plant Upgrade – Ultium Cells will upgrade its Spring Hill, Tennessee, plant to mass-produce prismatic LMR cells for future GM electric vehicles. The project is expected to create 500 jobs, with modifications scheduled through 2028. Read more
- 🔋 Europe’s Electric Truck Charging Demand May Reach 200 TWh – A Fraunhofer ISI and ICCT study projects European electric truck charging demand of 100 TWh by 2035 and 200 TWh by 2045, with depot charging dominant and demand concentrated at a limited number of logistics hotspots. Read more
- 🔋 Geely to Take 30% Stake in Nio Power in Asset Deal – Geely plans to acquire 30% of Nio Power by contributing its Yiyi Power battery swap business and 640 million yuan in cash. Nio China retains control as the companies also coordinate charging assets and networks. Read more

- 🔋 Stryten Completes C&D Technologies and Trojan Acquisition – Stryten Energy has closed its acquisition of C&D Technologies and Trojan Battery, creating a company with 18 manufacturing and component facilities and about 4,800 employees across the United States, Mexico and China. Read more
- 🔋 Global EV Battery Usage Reaches 844.2 GWh Through August – Global EV battery usage reached 844.2 GWh in January-August 2026, up 19.7% year over year, according to SNE Research. Seven Chinese suppliers lifted their combined share to 73.3%, while North American usage fell 23.7%. Read more

- 🔋 Gotion Targets 400 Wh/kg for Solid-State Batteries – Gotion says its sulfide-based solid-state cells are targeting 400 Wh/kg and $150/kWh. The company also reported puncture and high-temperature tests without smoke or flames as it prepares the technology for commercialization. Read more
- 🔋 Echion, ETS Target 50,000 Cycles for XNO Batteries – Echion and Energy Tech Solution signed an MoU to develop and manufacture cells using XNO niobium-based anode material. ETS aims to demonstrate cylindrical, pouch and prismatic batteries rated for up to 50,000 cycles. Read more

- 🔋 Toyota Opens 30,000-Square-Foot Michigan Battery Center – Toyota has opened a 30,000-square-foot battery development and evaluation center in Saline, Michigan. The site will support testing of technologies for hybrid, plug-in hybrid, hydrogen and fully electric vehicles. Read more

- 🔋 POSCO Future M Signs KRW 1.1 Trillion SK On LFP Deal – POSCO Future M signed a three-year, KRW 1.1 trillion agreement to supply LFP cathode materials to SK On from 2027 through 2029. The deal can be extended by two years and is its first cathode supply contract with SK On. Read more
- 🔋 GEL Plans £43 Million Cornwall Lithium Extraction Plant – Geothermal Engineering Limited plans to invest around £43 million in a Cornwall lithium extraction facility. Commercial production is scheduled for 2029, with annual output projected at about 1,500 tonnes of lithium carbonate. Read more
- 🔋 Talga, EAS Target Five-Year Graphite Anode Supply Deal – Talga and EAS Batteries have signed a nonbinding letter of intent for European graphite anode supply. The companies aim to agree a five-year deal in 2027 after product qualification and supply-chain due diligence. Read more

- 🔋 AB Energy USA Secures 2 GW for Five Data Centers – AB Energy USA has secured about 2 GW of generation capacity for five on-site data centers in Texas and Oklahoma. The modular projects use gas engines, with battery storage and absorption cooling planned at some sites. Read more
